Found this whilst looking for my next ship model; worth digging about as there's some unusual stuff in there:

I think this chunky little fellow is interesting: https://www.zootoyz.jp/contents/en-us/p707_Woody_J...

I used to live next to a model shop in Hong Kong that had loads of these beautiful kits on display, the Japanese and HK also like a lot of the manga and even cartoon style kits with tamiya (I think) doing cartoon egg shaped modern jets like f-14s and so on.

There was always loads of cool ww2 dioramas with random naked women in them which as a young boy always drew my attention.

I was fascinated by this cruise liner in wood and metal: https://www.zootoyz.jp/contents/en-us/p1650_Woody_... Scroll down through the photos.

Not sure how much of a problem Japanese instructions would be, though the illustrations look clear.

To be fair, the instructions are brilliant and would help even if you can't understand Japanese. It's amazing to think that apparently, most of the kits seem to be in wood.

They're also good at customer service - I've e-mailed them twice with queries and got replies the next day in good English.

I have previously looked at the Pagoda kits. Apparently "woody Joe" are very well rated for quality.
