I need some of this in sapele mahogany to frame a display case I'm making - but can't find a supplier. Does anyone know where it can be obtained please? Profile approx 12x12mm.

Also looking for affordable 4mm acrylic/polycarbonate, the prices are nuts...

Thanks; not a fan of stain - uncertain results and the grain will be wrong.

I did find a company wooduchoose.com and said 'I'm looking for mahogany birdsmouth moulding approx 12mm on each side... Total length of moulding 4 metres'. Their reply asked for 'Overall dimensions, A sketch or image of the required profile/product, Total quantities (or specific length requirements) and Wood type/species - all of which I'd just told them. I replied by return and that was 3 days ago...

My next plan is to get square section sapele mahogany and cut it into an L on my table saw.

Trotted out to a good timber merchant yesterday and bought some 'utile'. Never heard of it before but apparently it's the new posh version of sapele. It has a fine dense grain and is the colour of proper mahogany. At about £5.50/m for 20x45mm (which I can double up by cutting in half), it's affordable too. So if you want mahogany, look for utile.
