Hi All

I'm looking for a model of the Le Mans winning Jaguar XJR-9, i've been looking for an Exoto one for ages but on eBay they all seem to be from US/ Australia or used and still expensive, as its for a present i'd prefer not to do that.

I thought that Exoto were the only ones to make a 1/18 version of the model, however browsing grandprixlegends it would appear that TrueScale do one as well, does anyone have any comments on the quality of these? They're still quite pricey (£250) but if the quality is good then probably worth it.

I did a search and the only reference to TrueScale was back in 2012 so just wondering if anyone had any more recent views on the quality of their product.

I have the 1/18 R33 GTR LM Le-Mans edition and the model itself is quite detailed, but the side mirror fell off by itself 2 weeks after it was taken out of the box and put on display.
I would buy other models from them though, and the mirror falling off can be fixed by using some glue, just not got round to doing it yet.

Have a look at CK Models in Germany?

Truescale's has never seen the light of day and seems unlikely to, to be honest.

So, only Exoto has ever made the XJR9 in 1:18 (there is a resin XJR12 from Autobahn Models/AB Models, but it's sealed and a bit basic, if we're honest, but you might find one in the £150-£200 range if you hunt around)

Best bet is to keep your eyes peeled for a decent used Exoto one (or even a new one in Exoto's regular sales - There will be deals for July 4th, but their prices are pretty high now)

While the prices tend to be eye-watering these days, bargains do crop up now and then...

I bought mine years ago and paid £122 (I've the Daytona winner too, which was a bit cheaper) and I thought they were crazily expensive for a 'toy car' - I should have bought a dozen of each! biggrin

Ah I was looking at it on gpl and thought it was for sale but it is only on preorder so that might explain it.

I have Graham Hill's Lotus turbine which is a very well detailed model.
