1:20 staircase and walkways. Design, calcs and cutting in acrylic and timber by my daughter with me trying to hold bits straight while she got half a bottle of superglue over me.

Love that. Is she an architect or a conceptual artist? I spent yesterday afternoon in The Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield, so my eye for "forms" is wide awake right now!

Just finished her BA Architecture, this was one of half a dozen models in her final project. Sparked my interest in modelling again, trying to work out how I can justify a secondhand laser cutter for the spare room idea

LOL, yep, that and many other things I would guess! But, hey, she got through it with a first + honours.

Many thanks for your advice and help over the last year or so.

Did they have laser cutters and 3D printers at her Uni, out of interest? Most of them seem to, these days.

I had a 3D printer for my Architecture degree, too.

His name was Karl, and he ran on beer... mate of mine from my school days who'd become a CDT Technician at our old high school, and used to make all my models for me. They never did figure out how I managed to come up with such high quality models, when I spent barely any time in studio! biggrin

Certainly well equipped, just the studio she worked in had 3 laser cutters plus she was really fortunate in that her old school opened up their studios in the evenings and allowed her access in the day so she had access to cutters, printers etc during holidays.

/I feel know Karl
