My little boy has a green Rolly John Deere tractor, not very old but some of the plastics are a bit sun bleached and has water spots on it. I tried some car polish which makes it slightly better but is there any way of bringing faded plastics back to their original colour. Somebody suggested a heat gun but I'm not convinced!

Cheers

I have had good results with this.

It made a great improvement with a faded UPVC door.

Oh and a little goes a long way.

Heat gun should work

Back to Black or a wipe over with lacquer thinners?
Otherwise you are looking at just respraying some bits.

We've got a green pedal tractor too (not sure on brand as it was 2nd hand), but it was pretty faded when I got it.

Heat gun worked brilliantly if you're careful (same as Golf MK2 plastic bumpers for reference...), but 6 months later it's back to faded again - and probably worse than before.

So worth a try - but probably best to leave it as "patina" and carry on!

heat gun just raises the oils to the surface so will eventually make it worse
