Afternoon all,
Following a post night out eBay sessions I have ended up with an electric RC plane with servos, motor, receiver but a buff speed controller.
I have replaced and installed that with like for like.

I have a transmitter kicking about for an RC helicopter I had a few years ago, so hoping to use that, but I'm struggling to get them to talk.

The receiver takes a micro-crystal and came with a 35.020 (= channel 62) crystal.

I have bought a 35.020 crystal for my transmitter.

Can someone experienced in these things tell me whether these 2 should be compatible (photos below), or whether the receiver is duff as well as the ESC.

Did you check that the white crystal is a "TX" type? It means "Transmitter" and the "RX" (like on the yellow one) means "receiver".

Well then they should be compatible.
Seriously these days for about 40 quid you can get a 2.4Ghz complete radio set.
The technology is soo much safer.

A quick google shows that the Corona RS410ii is available on different frequency bands, e.g. 72MHz. Apart from the presence of a 35MHz crystal, is there any other evidence that this is a 35MHz receiver?

Only that it is the chip that was in it when I got the plane, hardly conclusive.

Writing the OP made me think that I might still have the helicopter receiver somewhere. Turns out I had saved it to use with an RC boat I was given following a grommets op when I was 8, 25years ago, still unfinished!

It works and have managed to test everything, but is heavier than the one in the plane so need to get it all balanced up, then wait for a calm day :-)
