Not sure if this is even possible. Certainly not by my own hands but I have seen some amazing model making on here so thought I’d put the question out. If anyone is up for a challenge?

My first car was a 4 door mk1 golf in lemon yellow. It was my baby. During a recent trip to France I stumbled across a model of an early version of mk1 in the right colour but with different trim. I couldn’t resist buying it. Ever since I’ve been pondering whether it would be possible to make it into my old car.

I don’t have the skills at all but I wonder if some of you on here would?

Here’s a pic of my first car. Mostly standard but for the wheels, dual headlamp grill and spoiler/eyebrow strip. Plus it had an interior from a gti.

And here is the model I bought:

So. Possible? Or not? Anybody up for the challenge? I would be willing to pay for time and effort.

And change it from LHD too? That's going to be a big job for somebody.

What is the scale? Revell recently did a GTI and I think it had LHD and RHD interiors?

Not fussed about lhd vs rhd. As you say. That’s too big an ask. Not completely bothered about interior, again. Too big an ask. It’s the exterior I’m more interested in getting. 1:18 scale. Thanks for all feedback. Will check out the link posted 👍

If MCWS can't help, this guy also customises models to a high standard:
http://www.homburgmodell.de

His shop is in Bad Homburg near Frankfurt and contact details are on the website. He speaks good English.

Work to this standard isn't going to be cheap though eek

Changing from lhd to rhd isn’t a big issue-just a matter of chopping the dash and wipers surely?
The big problem is going to be the TSW wheels

Crumbs! Thanks for the replies all. Yeah I’m not made of money so maybe this is a blind folly. Just thought I would see if it’s possible. That site with all the wheels is amazing! Didn’t realise things like that existed! Thanks all for the input. And for not just shooting me down. Much appreciated!

Its all possible, just not cheap because of custom parts and man hours.
