Xingbao / lego clone Ferrari 312T build
Discussion
Well after the gurney eagle weslake I thought I would crack open the Ferrari and start a build thread. Bit fiddly but rewarding none the less
Starting with the serpents nest of exhausts
Flat 12 crank
Boxer twelve complete
Gearbox, engine and rear suspension
Front end Friday ?
Enough for one day — front and rear end joined and floor plan coming together!

The Ferrari build was actually very very good went together very well and easy
The stickers I am ordering from the moc designer roscoepc. He charges a fair bit but I guess he is recouping some money. I will ask him if they are licensed as most of xongbao seem to be licensed from the moc guys.
I would really recommend both as good builds. The gurney is a lot more fiddly and benefits from the odd bit of superglue on the body. Looking forward to sorting the exhausts out and mounting them on the wall. I hope they do some more of roscoes cars he has about twenty formula 1 designs from the fifties right through to the late eighties worth a google

Just ordered this based on this thread...
Spoke to the designer via email for the decals, and asked why the other designs werent released via Xingbao or the like, he mentioned that there are issues with them concerning comms and payment. Shame because he has some great kits and on rebrickable to get a complete set is nigh on impossible and comes in at a high price!

Where's the best place to buy kits like these?
I ordered mine through Your World of Building Bricks www.yourwobb.com, found them after searching through reddit for reviews and these guys seem to be good. I haven’t received mine yet, but i have had two emails from the main man there to send through packing details and that if there are issues to let him know. Seem like a nice enough outfit, popular on reddit (there is a discount as well, REDDIT WOOB is the code I think) so must wait and see. Was $89 with the 5% discount, so a hell of a lot cheaper than collecting all the bits yourselfThen got in touch with the designer for the decals, who sends them through then asks for payment if you are happy...all seems too friendly to be real world but ok

Thanks for the link. I wonder what the odds are of having to pay import duty? I've ordered a fair amount of smaller items from China, and never had to pay. Then got in touch with the designer for the decals, who sends them through then asks for payment if you are happy...all seems too friendly to be real world but ok
You don’t via AliExpress. Look on there as a few vendors are doing both together at a discount
I originally thought I would prefer the gurney so but it first.. it is an awesome car. But actually like the Ferrari more now. It is a lot better in the flesh
Luca is sending over stickers. If you want to contact him go via http://www.roscopc.it/contact/... he said that is the best way when I asked him.

Cheers for posting the pics, OP - I'm more of a fan of the older blue car than the Ferrari but they're both good looking sets.
For whoever it was who asked about how well the Xingbao sets go together, by and large pretty well. I bought the "Dream Car" set last year, which is the new Ford GT in all but name, and was pleasantly surprised by the lack of malformed bricks and the clutch power. It's an original design from one of the well-known (in AFOL circles, anyway!) MOC designers.
If anyone fancies giving it a try, lack of space forces sale of mine - anyone fancy it for £25 delivered? If so, drop me a PM
Here's an Amazon listing it for the same set, which has a few pictures:
