Hello all, I'm wondering if anyone has a method for dissolving Epoxy Glue ( the 2-part Araldite type of stuff)?

I have been given a built-up white metal kit that I plan to take apart and make a better job of assembling.

Thanking You.

The only chemical methods I know of are pretty noxious. Is it viable to immerse it in boiling water? Alternatively freeze it with freezer spray until it becomes brittle.

Hot water, just put it in hot water for 5 minutes, then it will easily come part, you will have to pull/ clean off the residue.

Yes. May need to be boiling water actually, over 90 degrees from memory. Used to shoot a longbow, and quickly learnt best way to remove brass points from broken arrows was to put them in a saucepan of boiling water. I used to make my own arrows and Araldite the points on.

Acetone will desolve epoxy glue. And any plastic.

Nail polish remover is acetone.
