Battery powered panel lights ?
Discussion
My son and I are building a model robot its very basic and we're using bits of old bottles, boxes etc, he'd really like to fit some lights to the body.
Looking around and i think panel indicators would be ideal,
something like this

From what i can see they are 12v question is it possible to get something similar which i could power with batteries (AA, C etc)
I'd like to wire in a switch if possible also to allow him to turn them on and off

I`ve done similar but by pirating old led bike lights or torches; they are pence on the `net new and can be pulled apart to wire the led/s, battery case and switch any distance from each other. Runs of led strip running off 2 double As will do the same, available same marketplaces. Cover over the ones you don`t want showing if you don`t want to cut and shut the strip.

Or, do what a lot of modellers do, get a £1/£2 string of 10 LED christmas / fairy / barbecue lights from the Pound shop / supermarket / etc and use those. They run off 2xAA cells and already have a handy switch. No panel mounting bezels though. If you know how to wire up an LED with a ballast resistor, you can get individual clip-in bezels for 3mm/5mm/8mm LEDs.
