Chaps, I've currently got a Trumpeter 1/72 king tiger on my pile to build, the problem is it has vinyl tracks which I absolutely detest. Do any of you have any tips for dealing with them, getting them to fit, staying glued?

I have a backup revell version with plastic tracks thankfully, but I would like to build this one first.

Does no one make resin replacement tracks?

Not that I've found for 1/72, if it was a larger scale then you get into the realms of individual tracks which would be ace.

Perhaps I'm just not looking in the right places.

My son built an Airfix Sherman recently- we ended up paper-stapling the tracks together. Worked fine. On yours the join would be covered.

I haven't made many tanks over my modelling life but when I recently tackled a small scale AFV, I also stapled the vinyl tracks. It worked as long as the stapled bits were hidden from view.

What a cracking idea. Presumably, staple before putting the tracks on and then ease them over the wheels?

What about putting some weights inside the hull, the one pictured on the box looks like it's about to float away.
