Huddersfield Scale Model Show
Discussion
First show of the year for me - I always enjoy it! Met up with Bill (Perdu) from PH, who had an excellent display of his recent models on his club stand. He also took a well deserved 1st place in modified 1:72 class with his sub-beer mat sized, super-detailled Westland Wasp:
The boy took junior model of the show with his vintage Airfix Albatros (plus second and third prizes with other stuff):
And I got firsts in 1:72 OOB with the superb new AMK Aero Delfin:
...and modified 1:48 class with an Eduard (ex. Gavia) Lysander Mk.III. I pretty much scratch built all the cockpit details plus a lot of other stuff on that one:
A couple of others from the competition:
Best part of £100 spent on not much at all, so all in all a grand day out.

Well done to all
"Dan sarf" my February model show trip was knocked on the head this year. Previously Farnborough IPMS always went to Yeovilton but that show was axed by the current museum management. Last year we went to the Bovingdon Tank Museum show which was good. However, this year they changed it to a two day show - which our club couldn't commit to so we missed out. .

We made a last minute decsion to go so couldn't link up beforehand, would have liked to have said 'hello'; next time perhaps? Well done to you both on your awards, some amazing skill on show - not enough ships though
Oh no - I forgot to let you know about it! Sorry. I did enter the Corvette, but it came second (out of two!).dr_gn said:

Somewhere a fresh roll of 6mm Tamiya Tape has gone missing
It was good to see you on Sunday, congratulations on so many awards although I was bemused to see the corvette didn't win in its own class, it was lovely work
Congrats to Nathan too, you are nurturing a serious talent there well done
Anyway up, I hope you will all be able to get down to Cosford which its to be my club's next day out

Thanks Perdu - I'm still looking for a set of telescoping plastic tubes I bought from there in 2016... Somewhere a fresh roll of 6mm Tamiya Tape has gone missing

Hopefully we'll be at Cosford, and Telford again this year.
Eric it is almost too far away for me too
I went in the Midget, as you do, and had a decent trip up there but during the morning I went to get out of the chair supplied by the Leisure Centre and my back decided to twangggg
The trip home was nowhere near as much fun, especially when it decided to snow...
Next show Cosford in April

Please can we have some better pics of the Lysander?
I'm not supposed to put pictures online because it was supplied and built for a magazine article. Same with the Delfin - AMK sent it me for review for the same magazine. I can let you know when it's published (or probably post images a few months after that). Thanks.Gassing Station | Scale Models | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
