Custom Registration Plate Transfers?

Hi all

I'm wanting to get a diecast Mini Cooper (Classic) model as a present for someone. I want to make as close to his actual car as possible and the best I've found is a 1/18 offering by Bburago. I'll need to paint the stripes on myself.

Is there any way of getting a customised UK-style number plate set for the model?

What I do is use one of the number plate sites online to "build" the plate I want on a model, then copy and paste it into a Word Document or something, then resize it to the correct dimensions for the model and then print, cut out and apply to the model. Works well and gives you flexibility should you want to adjust the colours/size slightly.

There is a guy on eBay, Blue Dolphin Decals, that does 1/18 registrations and will make you whatever you want.

I've bought from him lots of times to put registrations onto my 1/18 model collection.
