Could anyone recommend a robust radio control car for a 4 to 5 year old. Budget of up to £40.

The ability to go offroading would be great as well as able to cope with the odd puddle.

Thanks

I think you'll be hard pushed to find anything for £40, even toy-grade cars cost more than that.

I've seen a few Nikko ones about. I just wondered if there was anything else out there worth looking at.

Spend a little extra and get a Tamiya grasshopper.

You may find one on ebay for not a huge amount more than that if you don't mind 2nd hand,

My 6 year old daughter has had hers for a couple of years now and still uses it regularly.

Probably a bit late now...

....but WLToys are a relatively new Chinese company that are making some fairly decent border line hobby grade RC stuff, a lot of them clones of more expensive stuff (although that's not surprising wink )

Most of the UK ebay ones are £15/£20 more than getting direct from China.

Loads to choose from....1:24 Scale up to 1:10 I believe.

For £40 and a 5yr old I'd go for a A959-B or an A979, 1/18 scale...fast and you can get spares, as it will get broken (my 12yr old still manages to hit random objects)

Any toy grade is not really worth the money IMO, as when they brake it's hard to find spares or fix. At least with a cheap hobby grade you can repair it and also upgrade it if you want.

Oh, and I'd get yourself one as well. Saves you buying one later on down the line when you find yourself playing with your Lad's when he's gone to bed smile

I have a 12428 and a 12423, not as good as some of my better quality stuff, but certainly good value for money.

Helped me though, thank you.

Thanks, I ended up getting a Nikko Nano Vaporizr 2.

I'd seen some of the Chinese ones on eBay but I was not sure about quality. I'll bear your post in mind when we need an upgrade.

No problem.

I've done a review of the 12428 on my YT Channel.

I've had quite a bit of fun with mine, although have a large selection of others...so it spends a lot of time on the shelf.

I've also got a 'giveaway' going at the moment for a Stadium Truck. Will be drawing a winner in the new year.
