Hornby 00 points query (and thomas)
Discussion
The youngest has a hornby set and ive given in to the constant haranguing over having his set out.
However, no matter what I do, his Thomas loco (0-6-0) derails whenever it attempts to switch track using these points.
There is a set on the other side of the layout which branch to the other side and that works fine. He has two other locos (and various rolling stock ) that can navigate fine, just not the Thomas.
Its all connected properly, including power jumpers (as i said, his other trains work fine) and exhibits the same behaviour both on the board and with the track 'loose' on the laminate
Any ideas?

The only thing I can suggest is to check the gauge of the wheels on the engine. On most locos, one side of the wheelset is mounted on the axle with an insulated bush, which allows them to move in and out on the axle itself. Maybe one of the axles doesn't have the wheels the correct distance apart which is leading to your problems.
If everything else can negotiate the points correctly, it would indicate the problem is with that one loco.
