Hello chaps I have been gifted a lot of OO gauge Hornby railway bits from 20 - 30 years ago. Can anyone tell me how I might be able to get them valued or what they might be worth. Collection includes track, engines, carriages, houses, stations etc.

Cheers in advance

Track is more than likely going to be useless and not worth anything. Take a look on ebay to see what the rest is going for. You may find it's not worth as much as you think.

eBay is definitely the best bet.

I sold all my stuff which was 30 years old, and recently sold all my father in law's stuff (much newer).

Got some decent prices.

Next you are WH Smith look at the Railway Modeller, there is a classified ads section . Usually one or two wanted type ads for collections . Bare in mind these are traders make living buying and selling, but they'll take the lot in one go and no dodgey Ebay muppets.

They changed the rail material and the older track you literally can't give away, loco's and rolling stock can fetch ok money. I scrapped loads when I started building a new layout with my nephew. Surprised how much worked so well with just a light oiling.
