I periodically return to this subject, have a look around, and buy nothing. Why the sodding fk are display cases of any decent size (like 38cm x 28 cm) so expensive? I really don't get it. Cheap Perspex cuboid, on a black raised base, job done. In my case for radio control cars e.g. 1/10th etc.

But nooooo. We want to charge you 85 quid or something stupid. Even when I look over ebay or aliexpress etc there is nothing cheap. Unless I'm searching for the wrong terms.

Anybody?

Edit e.g. This one is 70 quid on th slow boat from china

Good question

I need a perspex case for a 1/72 Stealth bomber approx 80cm wide and 40cm deep , pretty much everything I've looked at so far is silly money frown

These are pretty good if you've got lots of things to display http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/storage-furnitu...

I have two of those exact same cabinets to store my 1/10 RC vehicles also.

Would certainly recommend.

I use clear perspex boxes from Amjo - awful website, but decent value for money cases

www.amjoboxes.co.uk

1/18 boxes at 10 for £65 (+ £12 P&P)

They also do boxes with solid bases at £16 each (+ £6 P&P)

I have 50+ 1/18 Ferraris - all in clear cases - looks pretty good as a display when stacked

CK modelcars do display cases for 1/18, 5 were about £44 + postage.

Out of interest, I got our exhibition builder to quote to see what cost for a bulk order based on this pic. Results are:

1 off - £147.15
10 - £40.11
20 - £34.16
50 - £30.60

All inc VAT ex. delivery

Huge price drop for multi order. If enough are interested (and I mean genuinely part with money) then I could investigate a group buy?

I have two of them waiting to be built (sadly not bought at the current prices!!!).

Cases can be made in any size and I guess there are a few of us in this position. Size doesn't massively affect price, so see illustration above.

If enough were willing to commit - then it could be done.

I came across this site last night, so sell cases for tons of different Lego models, including the Porsche at £57

£57 is pretty reasonable imo. Thanks for that.

These Triple9 ones are the ones I said above, £8.95 + postage. The lids don't clip on sadly.

I bought a set of 6 from CK which do clip. Maybe the "Exclusiv" ones?
