As some of you may know, involved in the restoration of a Sea King helicopter cockpit. The chap who I'm working with already has an F4 Phantom cockpit, and one thing he likes to do when we take it to air shows is to have a 1/48 scale Airfix model on a table to show what the complete aircraft looked like.
Well, i'd like to do the same but the problem with Airfix is that it's so darn flimsy especially with crowds of excited kids who want to touch everything.
To my pleasant surprise I found that there was a large 1/40 scale diecast plastic model of the SK made by Newray a few years ago. To my unpleasant surprise it seems they are no longer made and you can't find one for love nor money.
One cropped up on ebay last week and I was outbid by one bloody pound for it!  irked
There's currently one other on ebay Australia, but I'm not paying £60 shipping on a £20 plastic toy!

So, can anyone please help me keep a lookout? There must be one of these somewhere floating around at the back of a local model or toy shop! If not, can someone recommend a similarly priced alternative? I've looked at RC helicopter bodies but they are well into hundreds of pounds!  eek

The models always came in packaging like this, in a variety of colour schemes (nothing a quick respray won't sort out). They are billed as 1/32 on the packaging but confusingly are actually 1/40 in size - and listed as such by most toy shops online. I've googled high and low for both "Newray sea king" and "Sky Pilots sea king" to no avail!

Many thanks,
Matt

Is the Corgi diecast an alternative?

Link for reference, guessing it will be available elsewhere:

May be easier to find?
