I for one would like to thank the last two posters for making me feel 'normal' only having 3 atm...

Will post pics of two over the weekend as am fitting some new shocks to on.

Not getting any pics of my Wurth Capri though as chassis built but no rc or servo gear in and in the loft atm with the body yet to be cut out and painted when i have the patience...

Here are a few vintage 4wd Schumachers I need to build. Another similar drawer of 2wd cars to build, plus the obligatory few Tamiya's and the modern racers and spares cars I have. Just don't tell the wife!

That name takes he back a few years Schumachers almost 35 to be precise I used to do radio controlled cars another one was Mardave bought the parts from a company in Blackpool .Still have some RC stuff in the loft .Now I have a grandson maybe an excuse to get it out again

Sworkz S350 evo. My rallycross car. RB Blast engine, Savox servos, Sanwa radio. Cost a fortune to build but great fun to race! I finished 17th in my local(very competitive) club championship in my first year.

My first foray into RC car racing. A yokomo GT4 1/10th touring car, again RB engined, 2 speed little rocket. It's old now but was a weapon when new. I would get it going again if I could find the parts! S2000 shell in this pic but was raced with a Porsche GT1 shell. Honda shell was just for car park set up and general hoonage.



I also have 2 kyosho minium planes. Cessna and an edge 540. Used for indoor flying a couple of years ago.

Okay so first we have the non runners -





Thunder Tiger EB4 s2.

When running wore a body like this this but phone battery failed before I got a pic of mine...



It's a non runner thanks to understeer on a flat right hander that end up with the nearside front trying to move a truck kerb lined footpath...



Impact broke the front hub at the top, overloading the damper mount, snapping that. This caused the dislodged driveshaft to bury itself into the fuel tank, snapping the front mount of that, bursting the tank in the process. Fortunately there was no fire...

Next up the Nitrotek Condor. A gift from the Mrs a number of years ago which started off my interest after a couple of false starts with two awful nitro that I sold year beforehand. Prior to that I had had a Boomerang and a Super Saber as a kid.





Fed up with the unpredictability of nitro cars and little time to spend stripping after every run out I chose to go back to Tamiya. Simple to build, reasonable price, fairly tough and easy to get parts. Best bit is that you don't have to be too precious.

First car I bought a couple of years ago was the Neo Scorcher






Great fun and have just spent the evening sorting out a few maintenance bits and fitting the new front shocks. These were supposed to be for the rear but we're too short, as we're the ones I bought for the front... Oh well I will just have to get some longer ones to replace the rears and will use the too short fronts for my Würth Capri which they will be fine for. I'm a little embarrassed about the Capri as I built the chassis but spent so long getting the paints for the body it was silly. Then I started to dread the cutting out and masking up... For now it is in the loft waiting for a dose of man flu or something when I will at least make a start on it. I'm toying with the idea of just getting a spare shell and doing my own thing with that though. Ideas welcome.

The Clod Buster is great fun but I need to in more speed! The lights make it possible to play in the dark though.



Added to these there have been many, many cheap and cheerful rc cars and toys over the years. In the loft are a couple of rc helicopters and 6 or 7 Caterham/ Evo V/ lambs, etc.

Think of all the dust, stones and grit you collect inside a basic battery car with one servo and a motor. Now add a second servo, a fuel tank, a clutch and an engine with a carb. Mix with super sticky nitro fuel and heat through use. It gets everywhere you don't want it to and even the easy to reach parts require far more effort to clean than let it dry off and flick an old rag and a cotton bud or two.

I took one for a run on a beach once and for 20 minutes fun spent 15 minutes trying to get it to start and run clean, then 6 hours stripping and rebuilding. Even then there were bits I should have stripped and re greased etc. that I just gave up with. Do that with a TT 02 battery car and the chances are you'll get a few hours play and then a few hours stripping down and rebuilding.

The Tamiyas are slow compared to nitro and brushless is, for me, the way forward one day. For now though they suit my needs to have something I can bash about with then thow in a corner for a few months until I want another play or feel like rebuilding. I've lots of batteries and the parts aren't over priced - last night I bought a new set of rear shocks, new servo horn and arm, a few tie rods to take some wiggle out the steering, and a new servo mount as I suspect I have stripped the thread on one of two plastic stock parts after a few years. Bill is about £35 and all parts are upgrades over original items.

I could have bought this cheaper if I could be bothered to ebay as well, rather than just going on Amazon.
