I need to do something in the evenings. Something preferably in my shed. Something that is legal and won't consume much energy.

I have a couple of projects but I am wondering about starting a model.I would love to do a 911 in Gulf colours. Preferably a GT car of some sort.

The last model I did was when I was about 12 and that was concorde. I made a mess of it tbh but it resembled concorde if you ignored the glue dripping down from the engines. I am not the worlds most patient person and I although I am extremely OCD in some things (if anyone needs kitchens to be tidied then I am your man) I lack the skill to be OCD about finish which is extremely annoying to be honest.

Anyway - advice on a model would be appreciated. I don't want to spend a fortune as I will likely cock it up.

If you're not adverse to some Lego then the Porsche GT3 is less than £200 in most retailers now and makes a spectacular large scale model. If you're feeling brave then a repaint in Gulf colours could be doable too

There are MANY fan built cars out there as well, with instructions available, including several porsches

Thanks for the replies. I have decided on a TTO2 Tamiya RC with a Porsche GT3 body. Not sure on electrics yet but I am focusing on upgrades to chassis / mechanics. Likely will be done in Gulf colours and if I'm brave enough to build some light buckets will also have LED all round. Also thinking of putting the spoiler on it.

Will post around summer the result!

Since I posted last , totally unexpectedly Santa Woman has given me the Lego RS. I'm amazed and delighted,

How long does it take to build ?

Not too long. This is my work in progress after a couple of evenings doing mine. It is really satisfying and takes me back many years!
