I bought the Kyoshi Kevin Schwantz model on his Pepsi Suzuki back in 1990/91, still got it!
Good man!Out of interest which radio did you use? The dedicated one or a std two channel.
I have a spare steer wheel radio, and an esc that should work, but wondered what was best.
Thanks in advance.
Nige.
I just used a standard 2 channel stick controller, worked fine, gave me many, many hours of fun!
Must dig it out & give it a run again, will need a new battery, trouble is the tyres are perished now also.
Once you've got the hang of it, take off the side bars for increased lean angles & try & save a few highsides!!

Woah woah woah! That things radio controlled? I thought it was just going to be a model!
What a good laugh that'll be
Indeed it is!What a good laugh that'll be
And the really cool thing is the rider is fully articulated and controlled by the steering servo, so as it corners he drops his knee and rolls his body too!
Sadly I have found a place that Does lots of cool alluminium parts so upgradeitus has already set in!

Oooh I like that...alot! Where did you get that from? was it the Japanese ebay site or Yahoo?
It was actually an eBay store in Hong Kong, not Japan that was my mistake, I also ordered other parts at the same time that came from Japan. Here you go:-

Wow, the finish on those parts looks truly fantastic!
I'm glad you've updated the thread and please keep the pics coming as you progress.
It's not generally my field of modelling but I'm interested in the techniques that you're applying and those are clearly working.
However, once the bike is complete and you contemplate painting the rider, that may be where I can help with regards to flesh tones and also shadow/light applications to the leathers etc.
ps- looking at the first shot in your link, I had no idea you were so young!
You're probably just a few years younger than me.

As you correctly guessed that's a picture of Tom,,my Son who is just 6, and not me.
Tom did a very good job of fitting those tyres, they were very tough to get on those new alloy rims!

Well done little Tom!
I think this project is going to turn out brilliantly. Too many of us hurry things and inevitably cock things up. Take all the time needed and you'll get the best result.
Thanks again, and. Yes I will take you up,on the offer of help with the paint.I think this project is going to turn out brilliantly. Too many of us hurry things and inevitably cock things up. Take all the time needed and you'll get the best result.
It's the one area of my models, that I have never been fully satisfied with, so all, help is welcome.
I have ordered a harder and Steinbeck airbrush kit, so that I will at least have the right tools for the job!
Cheers,
Nige.
Nope there's just two variants in the hang on racer series.
This is the other one, a Suzuki RGV.
