No face book here. Was having a bad paint day so looking at this and that, that has gone on the back burner but the tips helped with another. About ready to get one taken to bits on show and tell. I can see where I went wrong, need to know how to sort a few issues.
Edit. not meaning to sound arsey that they are on the case and all that. Its a great site. I can wait.

To be honest, I don't frequent Britmodeller that much. I find the whole site rather cumbersome and some of the posters are rather aggressive - in my opinion.
My favourite modelling site is The Unofficial Airfix Modellers Forum (or UAMF) which has a nice relaxed feel to it. Despite its name, it is an not an exclusively Airfix oriented site as it is also the home of the Classic British Kits Special Interest Group so you see a lot of builds of older kits from all manufacturers.

Britmodeller is a big site and therefore has a relatively large membership by model builder site standards. Consequently it probably attracts a larger number of wallies as well.
It is useful for picking up information. However, I rarely post on it as I find there is always someone ready to jump down your throat at some point in the proceedings.
That's what I use PH for
UAMF is more relaxed, I feel.
Another site I sometimes use is the American site, Modeling Madness. I don't post on the forum often but their daily product updates are quite good. Hyperscale is also good for product updates. I've met its founder, Brett Green, a few times and he's a very nice chap.

I still can't post in BM since they "fixed it"
Means I can't update anything either but if anyone gave me some sauce they would be feeling the weight of my immense sarcasm muscle.
I have been looking in at the UA site Eric, not sure I can take it seriously, there's some guy painted his FW 190D as JEJ including serials.
OK, its his model but not my way of doing things.
I'm a bit of an old miserable git I suppose

I'm not a great one for counter factuality either. For me, models are about history - so on the whole I tend to model actual aircraft rather than "what might have been" stuff.
The standards of model building at UAMF are a bit variable - but they are an encouraging crowd and tend not to slag off too much - which I like. When it comes to modelling, I try not to be too harsh (not that I can afford to be - mind).

For all those trying to get on BM, please be patient, it takes around 24 hours for the DNS to propogate fully. There is a new item on Facebook that gives an address to contact the mods to sign you in manually for the time being. The old server just wasn't up to the job, so we've signed up with with another provider with a much better server with more disc space and RAM, plus 24/7 tech support. So, hopefully, we won't have as many, if any, crashes as per the old model.
