The classic McLaren and the Mercedes F1 is a pretty enticing combo.

Why the 4/8? Seems a strange choice, not especially successful or good looking. Sennas drive at Donnington is legendary though. Wonder how many will build the Andretti option… Personally would have preferred a 4/4, you could have Prost and Senna versions on a Lego diorama of the Suzuka chicane thumbup

That would be an MP4/5

I wondered the same, but let's be honest, I'll be buying regardless. My only concern is the size of it, for £/$/€80 it is going to be quite small.

When you consider that the mustang et all are not huge and are £150, this could be tiny, like speed champions +.

Can anyone recommend cheapest place to get the Liebherr 42100 from?

A quick Google suggests £460 at Amazon, £470 from Smyths.

[edit] Doh = sorry, wrong Liebherr.

It’s retired - anywhere will be at a premium now. I got mine from Amazon for £220 but the same seller is punting them for £850 now.

And the fire plane is on its way to me; 30% off at Lego, and I had £15 of vouchers not far off expiry.

good build but found it a bit basic. Doesn't sit on the stand properly for me either.

I really enjoyed building the Ducati. If you can spray paint the wheels in gold, they look so much better.

You can't expect much. It's Ducati.

Hope you enjoy the build, I did. I bought the Camaro and the Christmas tree in the Lego sale.

Quite a fun build, and the kids have enjoyed using it over the Christmas break to bring each other sweets etc.

The controls are beautifully implemented, particularly the load sensing.

She’s a big girl though, no idea where I’m going to put it!

Update 13/12/23 → The model will not be based on the MP4/8 but on the iconic McLaren MP4/4 from 1988. Furthermore, more information is available about the Senna minifigure

I've just built this as my first ever foray into the world of Lego Technic. I did take my time as not to mess anything up (which I did and fixed). Really enjoyed it and surprised that it has working pistons and a 2-speed 'gear-box' with gear selector. Really impressed, and yes it does sit a bit wonky on the paddock stand.
