I guess in GB you could even try the "road legal" kit ?
Yes it has been posted before. But still cool!https://wildonemax.com/

My 7.2v NiMH packs are dead, they’ll accept a bit of a charge, but die as soon as they are in the car. Any advice for good make, or place to buy. I need Deans connectors.
Can these be recycled? Half way through a re-re Hotshot build, mechanical bits just about done with the electronics and steering to install next.
This is going to be a fast/hobby runner so has deviated from standard OOB:
Dynatech 02R motor with suitable ESC
Full ball bearings of course
Avante lightweight wheels
Supershot undertray
Non-box art paint including custom decals from MCI Racing
Stayed away from the Supershot suspension set-up as I have another one with that on, and I’ve never actually run with this rather novel monoshock set-up!

I’ve got a supershot. Have you got yours to turn? Steering on mine is crap! This is going to be a fast/hobby runner so has deviated from standard OOB:

Finally finished my Tamiya lunchbox build this weekend, apart from body paint. It’s been sat on a shelf for over 18 months.
Sadly first few drives resulted in a slight calamity of front tie rod arm coming apart. It looks like the plastic has sheered off which is unfortunate as it wasn’t a particularly big off… have upgraded to a metal servo saver and tie rod arms to see if that’ll solve it.
Must resist urge to upgrade everything!

I had an original Lunchbox and it used to go through tie rods at a huge rate - I was fixing them after every run!Sadly first few drives resulted in a slight calamity of front tie rod arm coming apart. Not Tamiya, but I thought this might have a place here...

This thread brings back some memories. I started in the early 80's with a Subaru Brat. I was 6 or 7 I think and my Dad taught me to drive with a high level of accuracy. (He's a very good model aircraft pilot, although we progressed onto full sized gliders too). I used to race against some much better equipment but held my own by simply getting around the corners accurately and in one piece.
I still have the chassis of the Subaru, but part of the gear box is shot and I no longer have the shell. I do have the driver, which my dad painted in enamel paint for me - complete with 80's side burns! I keep meaning to buy a new one and rebuild using as many of the original parts as possible.
From there I got a Super Sabre. 4WD with a (at the time) clever diff.
However, I've just found this, having completely forgotten about it!
I got this in the early 90's. Rear wheel drive and great (although took a while to learn) for drifting. It also handles pretty well on a decent surface too. I recall putting a decent motor in there and changing the pinion gear to get the speed up. We chased it a 40mph at Aston Down runway before it lifted the front end and rose about 2 foot in air... and then landed upside-down causing some damage. It's not run for over 25 years now as the drive gear has a tooth or two missing. I'll have to dig around to see if I've got any of the missing bits and work out what I have to do to get it back in action.
