Txt message from DHL saying:

DHL said:
A shipment will shortly be delivered to you by DHL with reference xxxxxxxx .A payment for importation charges is due for £3.01 Payment should be made at www.dhl.co.uk/epayments. For an explanation of the charges see Receiver's Guide to Duties & Taxes on www.dhl.co.uk
Popped along to the site, entered card details. Paid the £3 and the parcel appeared today.

A damn sight better than the Royal Mail thieves who send you a letter demanding an extra £8 for the privilege of collecting the £3.

Had a message from the seller saying that the UCS Falcon will be available 'Mid September' and that they will ship my SSD at the same time.

They've asked if I'll extend the order processing time on Aliexpress because of this but it won't seem to let me for some reason.
Despite severa messages from me, Susengo haven't replied at all yet! I did get a message to say that they'd extended the purchase protection, so I'm ok until 19th Oct smile

I ordered from 'Gelida Trading Co.,Ltd' as the SSD was marginally cheaper there and Susengo didn't have the UCS Falcon on offer.

I am tempted to buy the UCS Millennium Falcon. Has anyone bought one yet and received it? Also has anyone wall mounted it as it is the only place in the house I can put it.

No-one has the Falcon as it hasn't been released yet. Due later this month.

Tonight's progress

Up to step 175 out of 850. I wonder how long this is going to take?

Sorry guys but how are you notified of the import duty and how do you pay it?
You'll probably get a letter in the post from Royal Mail or whoever is handling UK shipping asking you to either pay some money online or go to their local depot to pay there and collect the package. There's usually a 'handling fee' too.

One thing I noticed on a youtube review of the medium sized Falcon - the Lepin clip hinges are really loose, so the opening roof wouldn't stay in position, and kept falling off.

I had the misfortune to put together a small Megablocks set the other day though, and I have to say that the Lepin stuff looks a better fit and finish than that.

I changed the 1 x 2 grey clips to Lego ones and its a big improvement although for the kids to play with it the lids are off anyway.

Small point. Who else has been reading this as "The LEPIN "LEGO" thread for non sensitive types" all along?

Hi all,

Regarding the other thread during the week - I wanted to understand why they'd judged this as okay when similar topics aren't. Turns out asking the mods to justify themselves is a bad idea that can result in a short break nono

None of it was done with a view of getting this closed - understanding the rules helps us all to make sure we stay within what is acceptable and helps us avoid posting something that results in a thread closure (or a short break). As it turns out this sort of discussion is a grey area - which is good to know for everyone involved (I think).

Anyway, having had time to reflect I've decided life is too short and I no longer care - so carry on smile

While I'm here I have a question if I may. I notice some comments about Lepin feeling different and rubbery - would be interesting to know how it stands up to sunlight etc. Does anyone have some spare bits the could stick on a window sill with some real Lego to see how they compare?

I'm glad you've had time to reflect, your posts certainly made you sound an interesting character that everyone would love to listen to in the pub rofl

I believe someone did a comparison earlier on.

Thanks for the permission. I for one had been losing sleep about posting on here knowing that it was upsetting you.

Anyway last nights progress.

Looking good. Was looking at the "speed build" video last night. Certainly a lot to it!
