Amazon looks cheapest from a quick froogle search @132, quidco gives 7% cashback for purchases from lego though, think its 140 ish there.
Unimog is tempting...
Few on EBay that have been built once for dispaly and packed away again. Only about £90 - I think I'll go for a used one. Didn't realise it builds into an excavator too.Unimog is tempting...
ETA £80 - £90 for a used one in Completed Listings, not current bids.

It was the linear actuators that weren't up to the job, Lego will supply you with upgraded ones if you ask for them, I think the early ones were withdrawn from sale and updated, I got some new bits sent to me.
Thanks for that. I e-mailed Lego today to ask what cost an exchange would be if I bought a second hand set that had the old parts. Presumably the updates would only be available to original purchasers? How do you tell the difference between the old and new designs??
Cheers.

If your instructions have these steps in, you have the updated version, might be separate pages as the service pack had or included in the books, if you don't have them get in touch with lego and ask for the 8043 Service Pack, think its free (mine was)
So the linear actuators are in the service pack and are direct replacements, and the other stuff is covered by the additional instruction steps? Ta.
