Hot Wheels 1:64

Has anyone else noticed a significant increase in the range of axle widths? They've always seemed fairly uniform but some recent examples I've picked up have been all over the place. The Audi is 32.5mm while the Porsche is only 27mm and the Dodge is staggered front to rear. I'm wondering if this is a new trend, it seems to work pretty well for a closer approximation of scale.

Picked up a couple more for the Fast Ford collection. First a carding of the Ford GT I haven’t seen before:

And on the same aisle were some Matchbox including this nice GT40. I have to say this seemed a bit steep at €5, especially as one of the big selling points of a lot of early Matchbox was that they had opening features. Expensive times…

A spur-of-the-moment visit to Smyths yielded more delights today.
Firstly the well known F&F Escort to go with my Fast Fords

Finally the TV Batmobile I’ve been looking for

Then this beauty caught my eye - part of the Premium Track Day series including the Sport quattro in a decent scheme, a Lamborghini and a very nice Group C Sauber C9

Popped into The Entertainer near me at the weekend and they had a Hot Wheels sale on. 3 tables covered in them along with 8 boxes underneath and a few pegs. 3 for 2. Managed to pick up the Merc SEC and Porsche RS along with a couple of others (Batman Forever batmobile, Yellow Dodge Viper from memory).
Worth having a look if you have one nearby, not sure if it was just mine or all of them.

I quite like the premiums, Really want the BMW set but it's so expensive for what it is.
Smiths have this Nissan set that I have just Pre-Ordered and I got the Mercedes Set last week which is really nice.

If it helps there's a red M5 on the way. Skip to 9:50 for a look:

That's such a beautiful casting in the proper original colours of release for the M5.
Definitely looking forward to collecting that one when it hits the market!
