Strangely enough, no I didn't fancy paying that for it laugh

Finished building cafe corner tonight (hence the late post), one of the large roof pieces, and one 1x2 piece missing, and two 4x1 pieces were the wrong colour, but I was able to scavenge from Lego bought from eBay, and hide the miss coloured bits so no big deal. Very impressed overall, the only bit that isn't great is the baseplate, but I suspect it's a copy of the one Lego used at the time and the original version wasn't great. I can always buy a Lego baseplate, I'm just chuffed to bits I've got one of the modulars I'd missed out on.

I've now ordered the UCS falcon, does anyone know when this is released?

That looks spot on, a couple bits missing is acceptable imo.

I read that the UCS falcon will be out during the last two weeks of September. Might (pre)order one now too anyway as at least it will give me some breathing space with my wife if it doesn't turn up for a couple of weeks hehe
I know none of you can answer that one, it's just that I have heard that the millennium falcon will be limited from Lepin.
Do Lepin have a website where you can find out what they are doing ? Do they actually annouce new sets or do they just turn up on Aliexpress ?

Not sure why the Falcon would be limited if it sells well, especially if they don't annouce that fact officially to help boost sales.

Not from susengo store so try others.

Post pics/review of build if possible please.
Ive no idea how to post pics.
SSD in bags. wobble

Not sure how I'm gonna tackle this as the bags aren't numbered, I will probably start on December 1st as an "advent build" and aim to get it done by Xmas eve without it consuming my life!

My son wanted to build the figures as they came in a separate bag. Quality is good imo.

Of the modular series so far I have cafe corner, brick bank and green grocer, if you could choose only one more, what would you choose?
I don't have any of those, but of the three I have (cinema, Parisian cafe and pet shop), I'd say Parisian cafe is the best, followed by pet shop and then cinema. Not sure where the detective's office fits; probably behind the Parisian cafe but ahead of the other two. Are the other out of production sets available, such as the town hall?

I'd go for the Fire Station or Town Hall, the others are still available from Lego.

Yes Town Hall is available, in your opinion would you take that over the Parisian Cafe?

Nice to see the manual is ring bound like the original. Is it A3 or A4 sized ?

The great thing is you don't have to choose. Buy them both. It's not like you need to "get in" before people stick them in the loft as an investment. I get the feeling the words limited edition mean limited to how many they can sell to lepin.
I'm starting to think about buying some modular sets myself. Something I never did with Lego.

My Firehouse has just been shipped so fingers crossed i'll have it next week sometime.

Anyone fancy a documented build as i do it?

I've noticed that you can buy sticker sheets for most kits on Ebay. The Lepin kits have their own logo on them but these have the Lego logo if you want to keep things authentic

Lots of bags! Currently half way through mine.
Its comically big biggrin
And up to now no missing bits.
I,ll probably regret saying that now.

Enjoy your build!

I just compared the 2 pages of the Lepin manual in your photo to my genuine manual. It seems to be exactly the same info but compressed from 3 pages into 2. Usually that will be fine but some details might be hard to see. Having said that, the last time I made my SSD I used the PDF from the Lego site instead to save space on my table and it worked well.

I'd buy it to be completist because you can no longer get it from Lego. Parisian cafe is a lovely set though, I'd choose that over pretty much any other modular.

Wow this thread is dangerous. I loved reading up on all the genuine Lego models and collections going on but could not justify the money for a new hobby. I already have far too many and not enough time for them due to young children , a busy job and an unsupportive Mrs on anything that could belong in a man cave...

I've had lots of Lego in my younger years , being late 30s but having young children allows me some err toys . I recndlty bought the Ghostbusters set and will buy the "female ecto 1 ha ha" as my youngest says . I seen the fire station and was like wow , where can I hide this lol.

The cheaper version certainly interests me .

As a trial I created an account on allie express and have ordered a rather cheap scooby doo time machine for a rather reasonable £12 delivered from memory . Came from susentoys but I don't think it's a Lepin, will post up when it arrives.

Keep up the good work guys .

Damn you PH. wink

My 6yo son found the original UCS SSD and decided that he wanted to save up until he could afford it (at a grand!)...

Now I have purchased the Lepin one for him for Christmas.... we'll see how it turns out.

It arrived. Working from home so have only opened the box so far. I am impressed with the guys packing ability. The box looked way too small, but having opened it I think it's probably all there. Will start the build tonight.

Excellent. Seeing everyone start to build is making me think I better pull my finger out and build mine! I've only managed tyres on rims so far....

I've not built a technic set for 14 years and never anything this big. The fact that the bags aren't broken down into stages makes it more difficult than a Lego model. Anyway I did some sorting and made a start last night. Got to around step 30 or so on the instruction book. Hopefully I'll make some more meaningful progress tonight and post the results.
