How's the Concorde as a build?

I tend to build, play briefly, then dismantle, so the finished model is less important.

ECTO 1 was a bit disappointing in that regard - great model, not as great a build. I did enjoy the Shuttle though.
I was expecting it to be a bit repetitive but was really surprised….spoiler…..it’s better than the Shuttle….which I rate as one of the all time greats!
I really want to like the set, but the nose just spoils it for me. Rest looks great, but I'm not sure I could live with looking at that nose.

Yeah the nose is a bit off but it’s the leading edge of the wing that vexes me. I’m sure the designers could have done a better job here. The leading edge of the wings should be thinner. Saying that I enjoyed the build and it looks good as a display piece.

A brilliant build. There's not many Lego sets where the underside of the build looks as good, if not better than the top...

Edited to correct my crap positing in the wrong place!

I've had a bit of a push on Lego recently

In the past few weeks I've bought

Speed champions: Fast and Furious R34, Lotus Evija, 812 Comp, Audi E-tron and the Mustang Dark horse (Haven't built the mustang yet

Also bought my Mrs the Icons Kingfisher yesterday which we'll build together at some point and the Lego Orchid which now sits in our spare room

A guy I work with has asked if I'll build the Bugatti Bolide (42151) he bought for his son as his son wants the model but doesn't want to build it

Enjoying getting back into Lego atm!!

Picked up the new LOTR set today. The fell beast GWP is sold out online but they had it at the Lego store in Manchester.
People are selling them for £100 on eBay. Mental.

I've just bought a few sets from Lego and didn't get the GWP despite spending £180 as they don't qualify. Boo.

And the sets aren't when for me. Even more boo

What's the view of the G Wagon, it doesn't look great to me, but that's my personal view. Naturally I'll buy it, of course...

I've also got it ordered, can't wait to build it.

I'll be keeping the Fell Beast

Ah, do they list the replacement parts in their instructions? That's handy - I tried finding what I needed using the list posted on the previous page but got nowhere.

If you happen to have a list you could copy/paste from Bricklink that'd be incredibly helpful! Am going to get the stickers ordered.

On another note, the wheels/stickers for the McLaren arrived a week or so ago but I've not had the chance to open them yet - will let you know my thoughts on the quality etc when I get around to it.
The sticker site tells you what to replace, but not in detail, so I went through the instructions and added the parts to a Bricklink wanted list step by step. I decided I'd replace the red plates with white and not use the stickers they provide to cover them over. They also seemed to have missed the two 2x4 tiles, which have the printed red stripe about half way up the fuselage, and the two 1x6 tiles with printed line near the tail.

I can't seem to send attachments through the PH mail system, so send me a mail through my profile and I'll reply to you with an file you can upload to brinklink.

Uploading to Bricklink is not as straightforward as it should be. Ignore the upload button within a new wanted list as it doesn't work from there with Bricklink xml files!

Do this:
  1. Create a new Wanted List.
  2. From the Want icon (top right), click "Upload" from the drop down list.
  3. Choose your newly created wanted list from the drop down menu next to "Add to"
  4. Select "Upload BrickLink XML Format"
  5. Copy/Paste the contents of the file I'll send you (opened in text editor).
  6. Click "Proceed to verify items" (bottom right).
That should work and you'll have 43 items in your list.

Disclaimer, I've not built it yet, so yet to double check if my list is correct.
Thanks again for this, I think I've managed to order all the bits needed - Bricklink's system is not the most straight-foward to navigate! Initially I don't think any single seller had all the bits I needed but I couldn't easily see what they DID have and what was left to order. Left it a couple of days and a seller in Germany came up that had all 43 SKUs in sufficient quantity so I've placed the order with them. My stickers have already turned up.

On another note I've opened and had a look at the McLaren tyres I bought, they look fantastic - almost too realistic for a Lego build if I'm honest but will be SO much better than the ones Lego used. Despite having a self-imposed building ban for the momennt (I'm trying to declutter the place ahead of putting it on the market) I may get that built as I think I can fit it in a display cabinet with a but of juggling stuff around... biggrin

I’ve got a gift voucher to spend and nothing else appeals to me at the moment. I was waiting for the Jaws set but it is nowhere to be seen, so I might get this.

It’s a shame it just looks like the MOC for the 911 because it is white.

Its interesting that Lego used the Delorean windscreen for theirs, just like I did when i made the 911 into the lambo, I bricklinked one and modified the build to use that screen instead of the Porsche one.

Bricklink's designer program series 2 sets were released for pre-order today (link here for anybody who might be interested).

I've ordered this, which seems to be one of the most popular sets out of the five available.

If that's supposed to be a British Railway station then it's massively inncurate; theres a ticket inspector and the customers seem happy (although the guy with the tie in the pub is spot on). That can't be right? The big danger is that if you order this set it'll be late or you'll receive a bus as a replacement set... hehe

I quite like that railway station but it's sold out already. How can that be when it's a pre-order and won't even be produced until around October?

I genuinely have zero desire for this set. Which is unusual.

Same, I just feel like there's too many bits of it which aren't done very well that are actually key to such an iconic car, if that makes sense?

It will no doubt look better in reality than the box like so many others, but it suffers the same key flaw as the Speed Champions one that I have. It lacks the proper shape Gandini rear wheel arch which is a key defining feature of the Countach.
