Japanese import XC70 possible new purchase

Love these cars. Going looking at it this weekend, it's a 2005 2.5 petrol turbo, 59k miles, FSH, being sold by a trader in Wales. He's got it up at 6995 so i'm assuming it'll be in A1 condition for that price. I know it'll only return about 25-30 mpg, VED will be 345 as imported from outside the eu. Anyone got any intel on these or should we steer clear and just get a UK spec oil burner.

Dealer wasn’t moving much on the price, took it for a spin though, the 2.5 turbo pulls it along well enough but as mentioned I’m sure it’ll drain the tank in no time. Oh the battery was flat too so needed a jump. Could’ve just been coz it’s been stood.
