A no no I think, my last d5 had a particular bit in the manual that said nope, don't be doing it.

From memory the higher direct pressure means it's not suitable for running bio diesel, but I could be wrong and getting mixed up with veg oil.

Will have to have a look for the report, but there are numerous problems with running biodiesel where the engine is not totally converted for it.

Fuel seals for example are designed to swell a certain amount with the current 85% mineral 5% bio mix that is sold at the pumps. Changing to B100 will possibly cause different swelling and leaks. There is a theory that says B20 (20% bio) the risks are reduced.

Have heard arguments that use of bio allows use of extended oil change intervals, but equally have heard arguments that oil life is reduced because of increased contamination due to unburnt fuel. Afaik any commercial fleets running on B100 use more frequent oil change intervals, and as these guys don't spend a penny unless thay have to, so I guess which side I believe.

B100 is a hell of a solvent, it will even strip zinc galvanising. Personally I wouldn't use it unless the vehicle manufactuers says it's 100% OK, and think Volvo say that it isn't
