Servicing in the NW

I've been looking at a V70 and was thinking the same.
This place looks ok:

but no personal experience there so dont hold me to that!

one quote from the dealer with a customers enquiry is
Have we serviced or repaired your car? How does looking at buying a used car result in "bad service biting you on the arse?"
I have been recommended Roger Newhouse in Skipton, recommended in fact by another garage who said they ring them from time to time for advice if they have a Volvo in.

In response to the link above, the guy complaining about his £322 bill for a service sounds like he doesn't look after his car very well, 1 headlight bulb out and 3 rear bulbs out as well as a tyre below the legal limit! So getting an annual bill for £322 is hardly surprising!
i agree with that partially.this part of the link is worrying.
I shall point it out to you. The owner of your establishment told me that my car needed pads and discs all round. That, as any potential car purchaser will know, is a good bargaining point.
As I had already replaced the pads and discs the week before, it was clear that the owner was either lying or mistaken.
Either way, I choose not to bring my Volvo to be serviced and repaired at an establishment with an owner that lies or is often mistaken.
I could have accused the establishment of fabricating problems with the car in order to acheive a lower purchase price and then taken the car and the owner's statement to Sefton Council Trading Standards................ but I didn't.
My advice is not to give people like me a bad experience and then there will be no need for any complaints.
