So the little brother has damaged our S70 - during the cold spell before Xmas, driving too fast for the conditions and hits a kerb whilst taking a right turn.

Not going through insurance as they'd probably write the car off and with the increase in future premiums it just wouldn't be worth it. Do want to get it back on the road though as it's low milage and in great condition (was SORN'd for 6 years during the 2000s).

Anyway had a friend give it a quick look over and it appears the front subframe is bent, front lower arm is damaged, Macpherson strut potentially damaged, same with the front hub. And the wheel is damaged too.

So yes, some significant (And costly problems there) - I'm in no rush to get it fixed (As it's just a 2nd car which is used for taking stuff to the tip, odd airport runs etc).

Am I silly to even think about attempting a repair? I figured I'd try and source the parts online then hand it all to a local garage to attempt a repair.

So yes, the front subframe is going to be the most difficult item to find, any ideas where I could look. I'm based in the North West so any reputable Volvo breakers/part dealers within an hour of this region would be ideal.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Just outside Manchester, so both would be fairly local.

This would be the one in Preston I assume?

Unit 6 - 18 Terrace Street Industrial Estate
Ribbleton Lane
Preston
PR1 5LE

Is the one in Wigan called 'Classic Volvo'?

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll make a few phone calls.

Another option is to have a look on VOC to see if anyone is breaking an S/V70 in the local(ish) area - The two breakers I suggested are indeed the two you have located - Mike
