V40 Remote central locking dead, any ideas?

As much as I love having a comfy semi quick shed I am already slightly annoyed at the number of niggles it has had. I have replaced 6 of the bulbs (with the side running ones to be done when I figure out removing them in one piece), an ABS sensor, think it needs a couple of new exhaust bits and now it has decided that the Remote locking should stop working.

I have tried new batteries in both remotes but still no joy, locking with the key works fine but I am thinking it must be something minor or am I best off just resorting to old fashioned ways of unlocking?
