XC90 Mechanics --- help please
Discussion
Okay, I've a volvo XC90 and when turning right the power steering pump kinda cuts in and out and I want to know why.
Let me explain. If I'm turning a long 90 degree corner, the wheel will kick slightly about twice.
It's not the suspension or alignment as I've had that all checked out and re-done.
The pump itself works well at lower speeds or when parking, no noises or lack of assistance. I've changed the fluid as a precaution as well. But you can feel a slight kick when moving the wheel at parking speeds.
One thing that has happened is the ABS Service Light has come on just recently.
Now I'm thinking it could be something to do with the Yaw Control sensor (which would cause the cehck light on) which in turn may do something with the power steering assistance level, could this be possible?
Anyhow, completely stumped now.

I have a similar experience with my wife's XC90. Mainly when circling roundabouts or following longer 'bendy' M-Way slip roads. I reported it to our local independent specialist at the last service and he said 'they all do that sir....'.
Not driven any other XC90s to confirm this statement to know for sure and it's sailed through a couple of MoTs and Services since with no mention of a fault so not sure what more can be done.
