Right here goes!!

Sold the wifes car finally, need a seven seater V70 by the weekend!! Any recommendations or anyone looking to offload?

Max £1800 budget, must have most of service history and cambelt change stamp or evidence, less than 130k miles, min 1998 but would like the facelift!!

Any offers or anyone know of any available around north west area?

Thanks in advance.....

Check out the insurance costs for both cars as a V70R is going to cost more due to its increased levels of power - Great car but as insurance is going to hit you each year you need to know before choosing between the two - Mike

Not too fussed on insurance due to my age (approaching middle age gracefully!) and my car history..

Well...finally took the Swedish plunge!! Got a v70 2.4s on an 02 plate, 11 same Volvo dealer service stamps, 114k miles, fairly recent tyres and brakes, spec seems okay with all round elec windows, cruise, air con, pro Dolby stereo. 7 seats, built in child booster seats, power points all over the place which will prove useful for camping trips, 11 months tax and 5 months MOT.

Fairly impressed, first drive impressions good in these snowy conditions, let's hope the report is still good in 3 months time!!

£2250....dunno if this was good value or not really?

I'd say that was a good buy - but only time will tell.
When the weather warms up, wip off the undertray and have a nosey under.
Also check thermostat working ok. Temp gauge should hit middle well within 10mins.

Well... Had the V70 serviced today as it was due, waited on what they might find as I hadn't really checked it properly when I purchased it.
Main point they had was rear discs were worn and corroded, ho hum will get my mechanic friend to check this himself before replacing ourselves if needed.
Otherwise car is spot on apart from one minor finding I've noticed, can't seem to activate the rear window lock?
Pressed it and the led within it doesn't come on. Power child lock for the doors work fine ( impressed with that instead if fiddling inside the doors manually)
Any ideas on how I resolve the rear window lock feature?
Impressed with the car though.

Does the rear window lock out switch actually do anything as mine doesn't light up but it does stop the rear door window switches from controlling the window up/ down. I can still control the rear windows from the drivers door controls but the kids in the back can't mess around with the windows using their switches.

With the switch OFF either the drivers door switches OR the rear door switches will control the rear windows.

With the switch ON ONLY the drivers door switches can drive the rear windows as the switch disconnects the power to the rear door switches - Mike

Not sure it does anything! Think I tried pressing it and trying rear windows via rear switches and they still worked! The switches in the front Control all windows fine.
