Not the best place to ask I guess but anyone got the newer style V70 with the twinturbo diesel in it?
Local dealer has a cracking car in its manual which I want on an 09 plate - SE Premium Lux R-Design.
However its the newer TT engine whereas I have the older shape 184 BHP engine.
I see MPG isnt that great but with it being manual was hoping it might scrap 42.

I am massive fan of manual gearboxes (unless in Mercedes) and also like Volvos but would not touch a 205bhp/Manual from the horror stories of owners.
APPARENTLY Volvo know of the issue but, as seen as so few Manuals are sold, it is uneconomic to rectify the few cars affected.
Time for me to but Halo is aware of my "pedigree"

Issue is meant to be ecu related, volvo won't fix!
Test drive today and loved it, engines so much better than old one.
Price is fab so going to have think as it's got every box ticked and I loved thr control of the manual.
As I say ive never came across an issue along those lines with one and I work in a dealership. I took one to blackpool a while back and was in a mental rush but what a drive across country with that engine, went very well Test drive today and loved it, engines so much better than old one.

Bought the thing - couldnt say no, price was good and spec was good.
Well done. Heart versus Head. Enjoy. Now you need to get some pictures up.
Rather frustratingly the cars down from the web so as been trying suss out everything thats fitted.
Well finally picked it up yesterday after some faffing about from the garage.
Its got more than was listed which is a bonus so I found the PCC and Digital TV last night having a play!
Anyway first impressions are excellent, engine is cracking - not sure if its the R-Design exhausts but it has a lovely growl when pressing on but very quiet when cruising.
Handling is good with a little wash when pressing on but to be expected given the size of the car.
MPG is variable, on way back I managed 27 mpg and after a mild panic and 20 miles it suddenly jumped so assume it was the DPF charging. Managed 44 MPG on my 20 mile commute this morning which is mix of town and A roads.
Couple of niggles;
Being a manual nowhere to put your foot, but I dont care its lovely to be in control
The interior shows some cost cutting influences, lovely place to be but some plastics are bit off
It goes so well and sounds so good I cant keep my right foot off the pedal!
Other than that delighted so hopefully this will inform anyone thinking of one.
One thing that I will say is that its got the driver support pack with all sorts of technology supporting the driver. Now thats great and I am sure it will help people. BUT and trying to think of best way of putting it, the delivery method of the warnings is in contrast to the technology supporting, so the driver warning of a frontal collision is simply a bid red light on the dash.

Pic of the car for anyone interested.
Final opinion vs the Phase 2 is that build quality has taken a step back, its definately not the Volvo of old but it also feels smaller and more nimble to drive.
However the engine coupled with the manual gearbox is a joy and making progress is good fun using the torque, kids love it too so happy.
Thanks guys - will get a "rear" pic up at some point this week.
Yes I am the toothbrush cleaner, but to be fair the pedals were absolutely covered in mud and grease - god knows what they were doing.
Have a meeting with the dealership friday as a few niggles to sort but they are very amicable and happy to help.
The handbrake is getting right up my nose is the only downside.
