Gen II V70R - Tyres
Discussion
Chaps - what's the gig on the Gen II V70R tyres?
Do they all need to be the same?
Just had a shredder of a blowout on the rear, and Bridgestone don't make the same type anymore - could do without putting four new boots on the thing this month as the NSF wheel bearing needs doing anyway.
Money is a bit tight, and even four NangWang Ditchfinders is more than I can really afford.

I asked a friend of mine who is a volvo main dealer mechanic. You have to have the same make and tyre pattern on the same axle with the P2 R's and there cannot be more than 2mm tread depth between the tyres on the same axle. If you are replacing then with new though, the depth will not be an issue in this case.
There is no need to replace all four, unless of course the other two on the opposing axle need doing so soon, then you may as well replace all.

Everyone I know who has them raved on about Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tyres and it wasn't until I recently fitted a set that I realised just how good they are. Noise is fractionally up but traction is way better than the F1 Asymmetrics they replaced, and the plus point is they were only £90 per corner delivered for an 18" tyre!!
