Is changing the clutch on these easy and cheap? Or do you have to dismantle half the car?

No, as far as I am aware, the engine and gearbox have to be lifted out from the car to change the clutch.

Don't know if it's the same as an 850 but the front cross member had to be dropped on my old one I think, not a cheap job.

y7es,just the n/s of the subframe needs lowering, approx 5 hours labour for a clutch change.

If its the same as the V50, start saving! I had the clutch changed (and DMF) earlier this year. It came to around £1,000.
The guy quoted £500, but somehow managed to find a whole series of reasons to push that up.
If your Dual Mass Flywheel needs doing at the same time, that will defiantly push the bill skywards.

Well, that is better than the crap I went through with the clutch change on my MK2 Mondeo. If I don't need special tools and fancy realignment just to change a clutch, in my book it is easy.
