D5 - Tuning (163bhp)
Discussion
Just got an S60 D5 (163bhp) and was considering tuning options. Don't know much about it at all, have read some threads on here and obvious advantage of power increase but don't really know that the disadvantages are. Have heard extra wear on things like clutch and tyres.
So what are your thoughts and experiences? Other advantages? Disadvantages? Different options (MTE and RICA seem to be the most common - am I right?), Costs? How will it driver after being fettled?
Any comments appreciated.
Cheers

I have an S40 D5 with the RICA sport map, which is supposed to give 253hp & 548nm torque.
I had a few problems to start with in that sometimes when you put your foot down it wouldn't go and it would take a while for the power to come on, but they did a couple of upgrades and it feels fine now.
Amazing power output, smooth delivery and the fuel economy is up a couple of mpg as well, so no complaints.

253bhp and 548nm sounds very good. where did you get that done? and what were the other "upgrades" it needed to run properly I had a few problems to start with in that sometimes when you put your foot down it wouldn't go and it would take a while for the power to come on, but they did a couple of upgrades and it feels fine now.

Contact Don@Kalmar Union - he'll give you top notch honest advice. Email y2blade, he's got an MTE map on his 850 T5 and will be getting one on his S60 D5 soon.
