05MY v70 Alarm
Discussion
Had 05MY v70 2.0t for a couple of years. Last week alarm was triggered while at work in secure car park - assumed i'd left window or roof ajar or insect moving in car. Went off again outside my house on Monday, again in secure car park last night and then at home. Setting alarm to reduced guard and it doesn't go off again.
How can I find out what is triggering it? Where are contact points for boot & door etc so i can check for fouling? Can't access volvoforums and search for PH is broken at the mo

My S60 has. Sometimes even when I've not touched it the alarm wont set. (Lock the car but no hazard flash).
It's only happened three or so times in four and a half years, but the first time I'd shut all the doors and boot a fair few times and it still wasn't right.
Finally figured the bonnet after a lot of huffing and puffing.
Worth a go anyway. If not battery check would be the next step.

I've had the same problem and posted on here. Apparently it's the batteries and is an £80 fix. However, a forum member on here suggested that if you lock it at the door it won't go off (something to do with the blipper). I have done this since and it doesn't go off. I don't care enough about remote locking to get it fixed...

Indeed but by using the key, the alarm is not set which is why it doesn't go off..... Alarm only set with blipper. Battery theory sounds sensible, tho I'm looking to swap car in near future and don't know whether to get it fixed 1st. Intergrity in me says I should, experience says no-one would do same for me!!!LongLiveTazio said:
I honestly think alarms are pointless though. Nobody takes a blind bit of notice and they don't stop people smashing windows if they want to look for a sat nav etc. They're a deterrent, not a method of making your car more secure.
Agree 100%, immobiliser good, alarm pointless really. No, have been silly busy at work prior to annual leave so not had car looked at. Seems quite random, can lock car and alarm will go off in matter of minutes, sometimes it waits several hours, though as above I lock it with key for now. Will drop it in to dealers in September as I suspect battery or failed contact of some sort as disabling internal sensors makes no odds. Maybe its sulking as it knows I want to p/ex it!!
Well, the alarm is fixed. It was fixed by either Mrs Maul, my 5yo son or 3yo daughter....
Been on leave for two weeks and within a day, the constant opening and closing of all doors seems to have cured the problem. Alarm not been triggered since. I'm guessing a sensor on passenger side front or rear door as I regularly use drivers side front and rear doors and boot.
Very odd
