Volvo M56 / M66 Gearboxes
Discussion
Hi,
Does any one have basic dimensions for either (or preferaby both) the M56 (5-speed) or M66 (6-speed) gearboxes? I'm looking for the shortest transverse gearbox unit, and the Volvo units seem to be the shortest around (whilst being able to handle reasonably high torque), as designed to be used with inline transverse 5/6 cylinder engines.
I really need to length (bellhousing to gearside end) and the input shaft to output differential dimension.. Oh and bellhousing diameter would be great :-D
Also, anyone know much about the M65 box? Seems pretty rare. Quoted as being 295mm long! Which would fit the bill, but I presume much less readily available than a M56 / 66...
Many Thanks in advance to anyone who can elp!!
Cheers,
Ross
