Hi,
Over the past couple of days the alarm on my V70 has been going off at seemingly random times. I usually park it on the road under a tree and a neighbour knocked on to say it was going off (I was watching a movie quite loudly). I put this down to perhaps something falling from the tree or an insect inside or not shutting the doors or something. However, it went off again two nights ago at 1.30 in the morning and I could see that nothing appeared near it from my bedroom window.
It then went off about 10 minutes after going round to a friend's last night, again, no idea why. However, it's sat on my drive all night and hasn't made a peep.
So it's not going off all the time but I don't know why it's going off at odd moments. Any advice?

Batteries are sealed within the siren unit.

Plenty of info about this on there.
New siren is about £85.
Usually located in the offside front wing. (Phase 1 model)
Need to drill rivets out of the arch liner.
Just unplug and swap units over.
Refit and secure the liner back.
Clear fault codes.

This has happened twice to mine...which is run out (57 reg) model of the old shape.
First time it went faulty it was an issue with the siren (I think). It was under warranty so I nipped into the local dealer, they plugged in a laptop/diagnosis equipment and then ordered the new part.
The second time it happened a sensor on the drivers side boot glass had come off.
Quick way of getting round it in the short term is to lock it with the key...when I was having a the intermittent fault on mine, when I used the key, never had a problem
