S60 New Model WOW!!!!!!!!
Discussion
As mentioned on another thread, just saw one of these in the flesh for the first time today.
It was going the other way, and I had a wiggle on at the time so it was just a brief glance but no mistaking what it was.
Holy mackerel! What a looker!!!!!!!!
How far has the "good but boxy" brand come along??
Blimey!!
Photos do NOT do it justice.
They have a winner with this I'm sure of that.
Checks down back of sofa for change....

Certainly is. I got to sit in a dark red LHD T6. very nice indeed. The interior is seriously nice with clear dials and excellent build quality.
Volvo will have have no problems shifting the new model and probably taking a few BMW/Audi/Merc customers

Does look lovely.
Have to say that I was concerned by a comment I read in the 5th gear review, i.e. that the Euro version would be given a "sporty" setup, whilst the US gets a "comfort" suspension.
My personal opinion is that it's a lousy idea.
If you want a sports saloon, IMO the right route involves rwd. Fwd is a great comprommise for space utilisation, minimising drivetrain losses and reducing tramlining, but is just bad news for steering feel, balance and torque steer.
I do feel that Volvo should at least have "comfort" suspension as an option over here, it's one of the key reasons that I changed to a 2005 S60 from my old 330i sport.

They are lovely looking cars but very colour sensitive.
Best ive seen are silver (I know sounds boring but really suits it) also seashell metallic goes really well.
The T6's are awesome to drive but very thirsty. D3 is a cracking engine and fantastic on MPG and very very quiet (which the press have slated it for!).

The T6 is AWD
In the same way my R is awd though. From the spec sheet, the basics are -
3 litre 24v 6 cyl
440nm torque
304ps
0-60 in 5.9 sec's
I have spent the last year with Mercedes and the previous 10 with BWW. I joined Volvo for personal reasons, not because of the product.....
However I have been nothing short of impressed with what I have driven so far and a S60 D3 is a stunning drive, far better than a C Class and although a different driving experience to the 3, they have really worked wonders with the chassis on the twisty bits you could believe its RWD. Overall for space, value an comfort its a hard car to beat.
