O/T service light on a Volvo?
Discussion
S70 and V70 and C70 and XC70
1. Press and hold odometer reset button
2. Turn ignition switch to Run
3. After SRL flashes, release odometer reset button
4. Confirm by turning your Volvo off, then on again
This is the same as my V40 Derek not a issue it comes on every 10k on my v40 tdi just to let you know time to drop the oil and filter ect ect.....

I wanted a practical car to commute to a new job in Glasgow coming up but then got side tracked by the T5.
Hoping the mpg wont be too bad
Er, my 99' volvo v70 t5 auto does about the same to the gallon as the cerb, not exactly good! but its the only fault with it, for speed, comfort and reliability its excelent, got up to 163,000 miles now and not missing a beat. I got 32mpg on the motorway at a steadyish 80 and the final 35 miles on A roads and into town dropped the average to 30. I didnt think that was too bad.
The bad news is the gearbox.
After the run to Barrow, driving at normal around town speeds the gearbox hesitated between gears a few times then a warning 'transmission service required' came on. This was on for a while but dissapeared when i reset the service light.
The ATF at the dipstick is more brown than it should be so i think i may be needing a new gearbox at some point soon unless you guys have other ideas for me.

Flush out the box using the correct spec fluid.
It's worth a try and isn't too difficult or time consuming : http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=838...

Just ordered 12 litres of Vauxhall 93160393 and managed to get it for £6 a ltr.
Im going to try and get a new B4 servo cover to replace while im getting my hand dirty.
Is the servo cover only available from Volvo or can a motot factors get hold of 1?
Not sure about the servo cover, I had no idea what it was until searching on Google just now.Just ordered 12 litres of Vauxhall 93160393 and managed to get it for £6 a ltr.

Looks like a common issue with phase 2 models, hence my not coming across it before.
I'd recommend you get in touch with Simon @ FRF Volvo in Wales, he operates an excellent mail order parts service and provides good discount. (see here http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=571... )
