V70 Alarm Fault
Discussion
The alarm on my 56 plate V70 D5 has started going off for no reason.
Rumour has it that the number or combination of flashes of the red LED in the winscreen indicates which sensor has triggered the alarm - which would clearly be a useful clue in debugging the fault - but I can't find any information that decodes the flash sequence anwhere.
Anyone know ?

Is your car still in warranty?
I've got a 57 D5 and have had to take it back 2 or 3 times for issues with the alarm. Firstly, if it's going off all the time, try locking it with the key, as I found that that stopped me having the issues.
Secondly, I had to take mine it to be diagnosed and fixed, but it was under warranty. Apparently there is a known issue with alarm faults....I think they said it was to do with the siren bit itself. However, the last time I went in a sensor had come loose in the boot....which I'd probably knocked.
If you look where the sensor stuff is on the side glass of the boot area, make sure everything there is connected up as it should be. Otherwise I'd recommend a trip to a dealer or specialist as it's a known issue they should be able to diagnose it much quicker.
Hope that helps
