XC90 - Is a replacement model due ?
Discussion
After a few months of hacking around in a 10 year old V40, I'm pretty close to agreeing to a 3 year PCH deal on an XC90 D5 Active. I've noticed that most lease companies are doing very good deals on these, and the Active is pretty well specced. Reading between the lines, I'm thinking that this is a model run-out strategy, but I can not find anything to suggest that the XC90 is to be discontinued, or directly replaced.
Is the new XC60 being lined up by Volvo as a possible replacement?
Also - are there many known issues with new XC90's? I'm planning on a manual box (I'd like an auto, but the missus won't drive them!), I've heard about front tyre wear, but is the bevel gear problem still an issue on new builds?
Cheers!

A chap in the know tells me that they will phase out the XC90 as we know it and not replace
The only fly in the ointment is that Volvo have no other current 7-seater
The decison rides on the 7-seater market.
The current XC90 cannot even accommodate the new high power diesel engine - so guess it's time is limited.
Buy a new one ......discounts of between £8 - 11K. In fact fools are paying more for preowned vehicles with 10-20K miles and previous owners on the V5, compared with, brand new zero miles, 1st owner vehicle

Thanks all - I've had a good read of that Volvo forum, and also got a few very good prices for a 3 year contract hire, but not purchasing at the end.
The Volvo dealer has also said that the XC90 is in it's final incarnation, but as yet there is no decision on whether it will be replaced, or facelifted again.
I'll hopefully be confirming my order this week.

Well I have just ordered a new XC90 D5 Active manual in Saville Grey with winter pack and running boards - delivery early February. Can't wait! Now I just have to figure out how to pay for it.
You should wait until March for the new Reg & it will give you a few more weeks to save up My car arrived at the dealers on Monday, PDI this week, delivery next tuesday morning.
My OH is just waiting for a retention certificate to arrive as her new Fiesta Zetec is sat prepped and ready for registration at the Ford dealers.
We're like kids at Christmas at the moment, but unless we sell our cars quickly, we'll briefly have 5 cars between the two of us.
Fresh off the transporter this afternoon, but in need of a good clean and Autoglym-ing!
Sidesteps are in the front room ready to fit in the morning - more cost effective to buy them separate than have them factory fitted.
Only covered about 30 miles so far, and first impressions are good, although the foot operated parking brake is going to need some getting used to!
