What plugs for a V70, Desno, Bosch, NGK or OEM??????
Discussion
I am just about to carry out the 84,000 mile service on my V70 and wondered what plugs most people use? The car is a 2.4 170 bhp with the B5244S engine.
I have read great things about the Denso IK20's but they are very expensive in comparison to other plugs, does anyone have any experience of them?
Failing Denso I guess I have a choice of NGK's, Bosch's and stock Volvo plugs, can anyone comment or recommend what is best?
Also, this is the first time I am going to service the car, in the past Volvo have always done it but I cannot justify £400-ish for changing some filters and oil, anyone have any hints'n'tips on servicing? Anything I should know before I start?
Thanks in advance......
Hi
the general wisdom as far as the T5 models is concerned (which I guess are more sensitive to plugs) is that standard plugs are best.
I have also read many times that the standard Volvo oil filter is superior to most aftermarket ones.
I buy all my Volvo parts by mail order from FRF Volvo in Swansea, the guy there (Simon aka Rufe) gives excellent discount, advice and service.
