Ok, well I used to have the same engine and gearbox set up in a V50. So I think to all intents and purposes, its the same.
I never found the delay that bad, but you can sort of drive round any issues...e.g. just changing up slightly before you actually want to.
In my current diesel, if I'm pulling off quickly from a standstill, I shift into 2nd pretty much as soon as I nail the throttle and so it actually changes pretty much when I want to..if that makes sense?!
