S80 - am I being told porkies
Discussion
Sitting in my S80 today, with engine off, listing to the radio, after about 20 mins, I noticed a warning saying "Battery Low", it came up on that little gizmo left hand side of the dash, where you can check MPH, etc.
Anyway, phoned local Volvo dealer, as my car was due in Monday for MOT and service asked about getting the battery and charging system checked, when he asked why, I told him.
He said that when you turn the ignition on to allow you to turn on the radio, all the onboard computers come on, and will drain your battery in about 30 mins?.
Just thought that they cant take that much power from a car battery, or can they? and thoughts?

I believe its true, a good few years back when I had a T6, we were catching the evening ferry to Holland and to pass a bit of time decided to watch some TV. We must have only watched it for 20/30 mins with the engine not running and to my embarrassment needed a jump start to get on to the ferry.Anyway, phoned local Volvo dealer, as my car was due in Monday for MOT and service asked about getting the battery and charging system checked, when he asked why, I told him.

Ignition on, then I can believe the battery is screwed in a short time, DRL, computers, A/C (with the fan running and so on.
But on accessories only position? Surely not, which is all I need to listen to radio, in fact I've been sat in that state, radio on / bluetooth phone connection, even the satnav running etc etc for ages with no problem, so for one I'm somewhat

Maybe differ on year etc, mine is a 02 plate. Didn't have the AC running, but will check at the dealers on Monday when it goes in for its MOT and service. But on accessories only position?
